PET is widely selected for clear beverage and food bottles. It usually uses injection-molded preforms followed by stretch blow molding. HDPE is preferred for chemical resistance, impact strength, opaque packaging and handled containers, and normally uses extrusion blow molding.
The right decision depends on product compatibility, barrier requirements, shelf appearance, bottle shape, neck finish, local resin supply and target output. The material decision must come before machine selection.
